This is the Reason of Resolutions

As we navigate the first few months of the year, it is a season of resolutions, goals and planning for change.  History has taught us that a high percentage of goals never come to fruition and I believe the primary reason is because people do not take the time to develop their goals into something achievable.  There are times when we need to celebrate the smaller successes as we travel the journey to accomplish the entire goal.

“A Goal is nothing but a Pizza Pie” is a concept that I developed years ago while working with intellectually challenged adults.  Often overwhelmed by goals, these individuals were able to use this concept to make their goals more attainable.

When eating pizza, do you pick up the entire pie and attempt to eat it all at once?  No.  You take the time to slice it into pieces and eat each piece, one by one.  Before you know it, the pie is gone and you are full.  Goals may be treated the same way.  Think of each slice of the pizza as an objective.  Once you have worked through all of your objectives, you will have achieved the goal.

Tackling one objective at a time also allows you to ask for assistance.  For example, instead of asking someone to help you find gainful employment, you may request that they help you with your resume.  This is a one (1) slice approach for you and less obtrusive for the person assisting you.

“A Goal is nothing but a Pizza Pie,” just take it one slice at a time!

Have a wonderful and Blessed day.
